Italians involved in the Olympic Games in London

The organization of the Olympic games counts a great number of workers who belong to the various sectors: architects, graphic artists, communication and media relations experts, translators, lawyers, photographers and a lot of other profiles.
Behind the works of London 2012 there are a lot of Italians. One of them is the architect Mario Kaiser, the Principal Design Advisor of the ODA (Olympic Delivery Authority). His task is supervise and coordinate the projects of the Olympic Park on behalf of the British government. Particularly he cares about sports facilities, offices, media centers, shelters and so on.
 
During a press conference held in Genoa last June, he explained the various aspects of a work designed from the United Kingdom both for the self-representation of the country to the world, both for the future livelihood of the community of citizens. In fact the Olympiad are not just a competition among sportsman, but an occasion for redevelop the city and the lives of citizens. He talks about a “regenerations area”: public money is spent to create an attractive territory with parks, shops, transport infrastructure in which privates could invest.
One of the project of the Italian architect is a urban park, that occupies approximately 300 hectares, achieved thanks to an investment of 9.3 billion pounds (10.5 billion euro).
Another important plan of Kaiser regard the period post-Olympiad. In fact the structure will be reduced, recycled or reallocated: aquatic center of Zaha Hadid, Olympic stadium, the cycle track, the arena for handball will be reduced in the places for audience, while the structure for basketball will be dismantled and sold in pieces. In conclusion the Olympic games represent an occasion to guarantee an improvement of living conditions the citizens of the future.

Sandro Volpato is in the sector of Accreditation. It is a very complex work, based on the screening of all the people who will arrive to the event, the collection of the photos for each person, the definition of the access (in which venue they can enter, live, eat and so on) for twenty days. Volpato has to study the routes, the zones of  athletes and their families, the journalists and broadcaster national and international. And in addition of the athletes and the media world, there are the politics, the technical operators and the sponsors.
Volpato worked also in the winterly Olympic games  of Torino (2006) and Vancouver (2010) and he could notice the evolution of the communication of this event. “Olympiad renews itself and tries to develop in conjunction with technological evolutions” says Volpato who joins “there is a great attentions to the new media and the social network, because young people are the main target”. At the same time new systems are used and the software is updated.
