My specific competence is in the research in the field of signal processing for digital communications.
During my Ph.D. and afterwards, as industrial researcher, I have been designing a number of original algorithms for multi-user detection and timing and frequency recovery (FLL & DLL) in DS-CDMA and MC-CDMA systems.
Currently I am senior researcher in a project (sponsored by Italian Research Ministry) of a new MC-CDMA modem for BWA.
My current responsibilities range from the system definition (DLC-MAC-PHY) to the design and simulation of the single algorithm (PHY & MAC).
In digital communications I master OFDM, MC-CDMA and DS-CDMA, multidimensional TCM, DLL and digital FLL design, channel estimation and modeling, interference suppression and much more.
As researcher on image processing, during my PhD I have been using a variety of math tools, among the others I can count on wavelet analysis, vector quantization, TCVQ, Markov Random Fields and Simulated Annealing.
In the filed of remote sensing I have been working on SAR (compression and focusing of raw data) and on multispectral (compression and classification) images.
I can count on a number of publications on international journals and conferences and three EU patents (ongoing).
I can also count on a sound background in Communications Systems thanks both to my on field and academic experience (Ph.D. and Contract Professor).
I am eager to join to a research group with the ambition to lead the challenge to new multimedia technologies for wireless broadband access networks.
